"The Suffering Spirit" - Ferret Orange Vinyl
Regarded as a solid young prospect within the hardcore scene in 2015, Old Wounds worked tirelessly and allowed its music to evolve into something bigger than any one genre. The Suffering Spirit bursts with feeling, track after anthemic track – from opening call-to-arms "Rest In Piss," to the upbeat charge of "Never Sleep Again," to the dirge of the "The Secret Song at the Center of the World," to morbid metal-rocker "On Leather Wings." Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Andreas Magnusson (Scarlet), the sound is warm, clear, and monstrous. The album documents a major maturing of the band's style, annexing dark melody and texture into its rabid metallic hardcore. Dark, heavy, haunting.
